Ok Brade seems chill. Let’s see what he wants.
I like the levels, but I don’t like this look he is giving me. Not sure about the hat, kind of digging it.
Time to learn first aid from the… chick in the corner.

I deal with them and I get sent outside to… Brade… uh oh.
He requests I slay a small blob like creature. Here we go.

Surrounded by mobs, what would happen next was anyone’s guess.
Beavis slashed and mamed, but then more came and started stealing stuff!
Better turn on @autoloot and slay the lot of them. That, followed by more stabbin’ leads Beavis to Job Level 10, and the next part of the journey.
Time to talk to our friendly Archer guide, as Beavis must first become an Archer to achieve his dream of being a Bard.
The guide is going to send Beavis to Payon, Some background on Payon
Payon is located on a mountain next to the ocean. Thick forests border the village on one side while steep cliffs overlooking a raging river border the other side. Bridges of brick and stone span across the chasm between Payon and the land across the river. Not only do the bridges provide a means of travel to other towns, they also serve as defense mechanisms with turrets lining the walls. In A.W. 997, Sarah Irine leads an attack upon Payon in order to exact her revenge on the village. During Sarah’s attack, Chaos accidentally summons the great dragon Nidhoggr and destroys the town. (The mountain it resided on still stood.) Some time later, Payon was rebuilt and a new village leader was appointed. The discovery of the Payon Cave led to a terrible invasion of undead upon new Payon. The Archer Association was formed to defend against the undead and the small Archer Village was constructed in order to stem the flow of undead going into the main village. About 300 years after the Age of Gods ended, Payon was
suddenly devastated by the appearance of a Dimensional Gap in the midst of
the Payon Forest. Any Payon villagers that survived the destruction have
since formed a refugee camp on the other side of the forest and currently
live there. All that is left of the Payon region is the section of the Payon
Forest near the former Sograt Desert.

Starting with the leader, let’s see what the dealio is here.
Ok I guess we’re going to the Inn, and there are fancy arrows that get put down on the ground to tell me where to go. Onward to the inn!
All the cats in here look pretty pissed off. I better get out of here before I make them angry. I’m all rested though with an AGI up / Blessing for 30 minutes with my rest at the inn. Time to get out of here following more magic arrows! Let’s see what fearless leader has next in store.

Time to find a warp point. You can get to these warp points using the Warper NPC next to a Kafra and it consumes a Blue gemstone. No need to walk though, time to travel in style.
It’s a short jaunt to get to Dragon Nest’s warp, but this… ostrich?… makes it speedy. Getting the warp and taking a peek inside.
Run away! That guy looks scary! Let’s learn about Silvervine instead from Memi.
Silvervine replaces any of the paid options within the game / the cash shop and its found by mobs at a set rate of .50% no matter what the mob. You can turn it in for all kinds of stuff at the main office in Prontera. Back at the leader, he is saying you can sit to recover HP faster here. It recovers 3% of HP/SP every second. He has a funny look in his eyes though and is asking me to put on some sunglasses.
Beavis got Will Smith’ed! Sit and recover!
I hope there’s no more of that. Let’s see where this guy sends Beavis next. Looks like we have to go talk to P.J south of here…

I can buff once/day with @dailyexp, def doing that. He wants me to obliterate 10 baby desert wolves and 10 pickies. Easy, get ready to eat some arrows.
Upon completing my quest, I got some cool gear and I get to go find Tali to get a Weapon.
Now that Beavis is armed, it’s time to explore the world. It’s a long way to job level 50.

Beavis is ready to do some cheesing, which means going back to the land of cheese. Time to power some job exp on some blobs and wolves in cheese land.

Which only makes Beavis stronger.

Phew What a day. The day started out right with some cookies:
Gimme dose cookies
Eating the cookies to give me a boost also let me say hello to this fine lady:
Then Beavis found a Merchant, who looked like he was struggling. He clearly had no cheese.
Beavis offered to party party and so the dropitlikeitshot party was born for Beavis to share his cheese with his new friend.
Beavis did slightly more damage than his merchant friend, but they had a great time together!
Double Strafe!
Pew!
The merchant ran out of pots and almost feinted. It was a close call.
Then, suddenly, the merchant glitched a bit and vanished. Beavis went back to town for more arrows, and the mercant came back briefly, but then vanished for good. Beavis didn’t flounder though, he kept at it and reached job 50!
There is just one slightly problem. Beavis has no idea how to become a bard. He’s a decent archer now, but he knows nothing of the fine arts of music or even where to begin. His initial training is complete, but he is more lost than ever.

And now begins the story of how Beavis became a bard. It all started in a sketchy backroom that had an old box in it. Beavis isn’t sure why he was there, but he wasn’t sure where else to go to learn to sing. A Blacksmith appeared and laid some truth down on young Beavis:
And with those words he vanished without a trace.
Beavis got the message that he needed to go to Comodo and search out a vagabond. He knew just how to get there.
She want’s to be of assistance.
After a short rendezvous with Kafra, Beavis found himself immersed in fireworks at the beach. Searching around for camp fires on the beach, which is where he expected to find a homeless guy, Beavis seemed to find something not far from where he came into town.
This looks like the guy
Beavis talks to the man and learns his name is Lalo. He wants to sing and seems kind of lonely.
Here are the highlights from the conversation:
He agreed to help Beavis learn to sing and sent Beavis to a far away town called Lutie to go meet a Snowman.
Beavis wonder how he talk to Snowman… but decides to worry later.
Quest in hand, Beavis found the local Kafra to begin the journey to the snowy town.
Beavis would like to choose his destination.
Some background on Comodo, I have a feeling Beavis will be back here.
Comodo is a beach located at the far south region of Rune-Midgarts Kingdom. To get there, you have to go through a wild marsh area, across a large river and a giant cave where aggressive monsters reside in. It is also home to the Dancer and Bard guilds. It is the Ragnarok Online equivalent to Las Vegas, with gambling, colored lights, and partying everywhere. Due to the local region, the sun does not shine in Comodo. You will be dazed by the glow of the blue moon, and drawn in by the enchanted night life in Comodo. South of Prontera, and past Morroc further east in the desert exists a pleasant beach and the city Comodo. Comodo is famous for having all sorts of entertainment, certainly breaking the laws of the Rune-Midgarts Kingdom. But because it is so far from the capital, Prontera, the laws are not enforced as strictly.

At Lutie, things are very cold. Here is a nice picture of the world map, but Lutie of course is not on it. It is also going to be very cold there.
And apparently dangerous getting there. Close call.
Garm looks pretty hungry. Close call!
Upon entering Lute, Snowy Snow wasn’t hard to find, but boy is he lonely.
He looks surprisingly sad.
Snowy Snow sent me on quite the quest… Duffie… Poze… Uncle Hairy… Uncle Hairy?
Who then sends me to Aunt… somebody…
She needs Salt that Snowysnow has for some reason.
And a clown?
Who sends me to go find two little kids who are all alone. That isn’t weird at all.
Do these kids have parents?
However, that brings us to the end of this quest and Snowy Snow has a present for us.
mm candy.
With that it is back to the homeless camp to meet this guy:
Apparently Beavis was supposed to learn something. He learned Garm is scary and snow is cold. I wonder if that was the lesson.
With one final test, to sing a song, Beavis is ready to go to the next level.

Got the goods, but he just wanted more:
Elemental converter + Orc Archer Bow + Steel Arrow is a wonderful combination. Time to see where Beavis can handle now.

Looks like the big patch is underway. Rachel Sanctuary is a silly place. For starters, you have to do the lost child quest, which brings you to a guy named Vincent who sends you looking for a family jewel… or something. That ends up sending you to the Ice Cavern to get slapped, here’s a video of that interaction:

The kid is over by the lake, as kids do. Phoebe does not want to come home, but gives up the jewel without a fuss.
Bringing the jewel to Vincent makes him act kind of sus. He wants me to go “tell Jenny” about Phoebe, so he can… do something with the jewel I just gave him. I wonder if its the same Jenny from Forest Gump.
Though Jenny does seem pretty happy.
And returning to Vincent he now wants me to see “his master”
Onward to Rachel Sanctuary! I’m sure it will be easy to get inside.

Outside the sanctuary, the quest can be skipped for 300k, which Beavis does not have! Onward to the quest we go.
I guess I need to find another kid to figure out how to sneak in, I’d better look near the open body of water devoid of adult supervision:

Time to go back in and find the priest guy that I was looking for in the first place. And I guess Beavis should look for some kind of forbidden area and go there too because why not right?

And then gets sent back to Zhed and is definitely NOT suggesting we investigate secret areas holy grounds of the sanctuary. Also just wanted to emphasize this line from the pope:

Went on a mission of card collecting and got a wormtail card and eggyra card both in less than an hour. Beavis is something else when it comes to getting cards.

Went to Toy Factory 4 today for the first time and it was a lot of fun. Went with a party of about 8 and it takes a lot of cooperative work down there. There are mobs that need to be silenced before you hit them or they just wipe the whole party (that only happened once and it was totally my fault). There’s food and costume for drops which is kind of nice too. Here are a few action shots:

My new thing is using my bard to follow my gunslinger at Rachel 5 with blue pots made from my alchemist. Everything goes well unless an army of Agavs come and one thunderbolts. I can’t seem to get both chars out of the way. I’ll take some action shots today or see if any parties are running. I also haven’t joined up to bragi my prof, maybe I’ll do that today.

I ran toy factory 4 and I tried using the replay feature, which I have never tried before. I guess I have to relaunch it then it will play, and I guess I can capture from it. I joined up with a party of 8 and we had a pretty good mix. It requires active work there as a bard and I was doing bragi / assassins cross then bow switching to help with damage. The new update makes adaptation to circumstances only have like a .1 sec cast delay so you can song spam without item switching. It’s nice. I’ll try to make a video from the replay and will post highlights. |
